UP govt transfers SSP of Bulandshahr & two other police officers in connection with violence in district

Uttar Pradesh government has transferred the SSP of Bulandshahr district, Krishna Bahadur Singh. This comes days after violence in the district.

Mr Singh has been attached to the DGP’s office in Lucknow. Prabhakar Chaudhary will be the new SSP of Bulandshahr. Mr Chaudhary is currently the SP of Sitapur district.

One Circle Officer and a Station Incharge have also been transferred. The action by the state government came after an investigation report was submitted by ADG Intelligence, SV Shirodkar in the case yesterday. The SIT is also investigating the matter.

Our correspondent reports, nine persons have been arrested so far in connection with the violence that erupted on Monday after alleged cow slaughter. Police Inspector Subodh kumar Singh and a villager were killed in the violence. Five persons were arrested yesterday.

Meanwhile, Police teams have been sent to Jammu and Kashmir to arrest an army soldier, Jeetu, who was allegedly seen in video footage of the violence and was named in FIR.

PRO to DGP, Rajendra Gautam, told media that efforts are on to nab the main accused Yogesh Raj in the case.
