The protests over barbaric act with a minor girl child of Sumbal area in Bandipora district are intensifying with larger participation of society in Jammu and Kashmir. Cross section of people are demanding death penalty for the accused who has been arrested by the local police.
A candle march was held under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) a recently floated political party by Shah Faesal in Jammu. The march was attended by some senior members of team Jammu namely Amjad Khan, Parvez Qadari, Akhtar Malik, Shoket Hussain, Rohit Sharma, Kabir Singh and other members were also present.
In a message the members of JKPM expressed solidarity with the cause of bringing perpetrator of this gruesome crime to justice. Members of JKPM expressed anguish and regret over denigration of human values which lead to such horrific acts. Claiming such incidents as death of humanity, the members demanded exemplary punishment for the accused.
Calling upon the administration, the members of organisation appealed for a speedy trail in this case to initiate belief in justice system of country.
Noteworthy to mention, a case has already been registered under section 451 and 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO). Apart from this, J&K High Court has taken suo motto cognizance of crime. Chief Justice Gitta Mittal has directed the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, “to submit a status report on Friday”.
