Chief Electoral Officer to convene election preparedness meeting on Friday
The chaos and confusion in the state of Jammu and Kashmir is most likely to settle down with the announcement of holding a preparedness video conference with District Election Officers by the Chief Election Officer, J&K.
The ‘Meeting Notice’ issued by Deputy Chief Election officer says, “Chief Election Officer, J&K shall be chairing a meeting through video conferencing with all the DEOs/ EROs/ AREOs on 2nd August 2019, at 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm”
The participants, as per the order, are required to give the power point presentation (PPT) on feedback/ suggestions with regard to preparation for Electors Verification Programme (EVP), Pre-revision activities and SSR 2020.
According to reliable that formal notification for conduction assembly elections will be issued after August 15 and elections and elections are most likely to be held before the harsh winter sets in.
Recent deployment order of more CAPF personnel clubbed with few more orders circulating in social media created considerable confusion amongst the locals in Kashmir valley with rumors of scrapping 35A and 370 doing rounds.
