In pursuance to the efforts to sensitizing the society at large and students in particular about the detrimental effects of Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic substances a Non Governmental Organization Helpline Humanity (Regd) in collaboration with Vishwa Bharati Sr Sec, School, Akalpur organized a debate competition in school premises.
The intra school debate competition ‘ Drug addiction a menace – Responsibility of Government or Public’ was organized in school which saw the participation of students highlighting the responsibility of government and society in curbing the menance of drug abuse. The participants left the audience spell bound with their knowledge and oratory skills.
Speaking on the occasion, B L Jalali, Project Director, Helpline Humanity stressed on the participation of students in educating the masses about the devastating impact of drug abuse. He highlighted the role and scope of his NGO in waging a war against drugs. Helpline Humanity he said is in the field of education assisting the deserving students through study material and free coaching classes for advanced learning in administrative and engineering fields. Focussing on Skill Development, B L Jalali said, Helpline Humanity in collaboration with Vishwakarma Skill Development university, India’s first skill development university located in Haryana assists the deserving students in skill development as well.
He further apprised the gathering that 500 students have been issued complete sets of books for entire academic year and about 1800 beneficiaries have visited the Mata Saraswati Pustakalaya library at Jagti, Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion T K Bhat, R&R Commissioner (M) emphasized on a robust and inclusive growth of students in the field of education and learning. Explaining the role and importance of staying connected to roots, he stressed on appreciating the historical past of a 5000 year old civilization which has imparted essence and quality to the contemporary world order.
Shri J.L.Koul, President Vishwa Bharti Institute Management highlighted the role of Vishwa Bharti management in inculcating knowledge and learning in society for decades. He advised the students to stay focused and vigilant against the vices and walk on the path of righteousness.
Top three performers in debate competition Yogini of class 11th, Janvi and Aastha Pandita of class 10th were ranked as the best three performers and were awarded trophies by Helpline Humanity.
Mrs. Annapurna , Principal of the school welcomed all guests and deliberated on the quality education offered by the school to the budding builders of nation. She thanked Helpline Humanity in this sensitation drive and hoped to undertake such exercise in near future.
