BJP spokesperson for Kashmir Displaced District Rajiv Pandita thanked the Prime Minsister Sh Narender Modi, Home Minister Sh Amit Shah and J&K LG Sh G C Murmu for the historic Domicile law in the Union Territory of J&K.
Terming it as another epochal decision by the Union Government domicile rules notification for which notification was issued by UT government of Jammu and Kashmir thus making all the deprived sections of the state eligible to be the domicile of the state especially the displaced bonafide Kashmiri Pandits who had migrated from the valley since independence and were not able to register themselves with the relief department can now get themselves registered without any hassle.
The decision to uphold the rights of all the deprived sections like displaced Kashmiri Pandits, Valmikis, Gorkhas and especially the daughters of the erstwhile state who are married outside the state, said Pandita, will eventually lead to progressive growth and equitable development of the entire Union Territory upholding the slogan ‘Sabka Saath; Sabka Vikas’ of our respected PM Modi.
He said the historical injustice meted to all the deprived sections of erstwhile state especially Kashmiri Pandits stands corrected to some extend. Adding that the forced displacements which took place under duress after Tribal Raid in 1947, Apathetic and aggressive local administration during Parmeshwari agitation in 1967, Blatant loot and carnage of Hindus in 1986 and eventually the exodus under the threat of Pakistan backed terrorism in 1990 has been addressed by giving an opportunity to all these displaced Hindus of Kashmir through Domicile law.
