J&K High Court send notice to government over plea to hand over SMVD temple management by Adv Ankur Sharma

In a plea which can have far reaching implication on management and governance of Hindu temples in Jammu and Kashmir,  the J&K High Court has sent Notice: to the J&K government.

The plea for complete handover of Management, Administration and Governance of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Temple connected Endowments/Other properties sought to be given back to Hindus has been submitted by Adv Ankur Sharma for the petitioners (Baridars)

The notice was sent by Justice Javed Iqbal Wani after hearing Advocate Ankur Sharma in J&K High Court today demanding a reply from government of Union Territory within four weeks.

Noteworthy, this has not only created a possibility of dissociating the government from controlling the most affluent and thronged temples in Jammu and Kashmir but can serve as a precedent for other government managed temples in J&K.

While speaking to Epilogue News Network, Adv Ankur Sharma sounded very optimistic and upbeat claiming that we have been able to make court take cognizance of the fact and get the notice served to the government. Let us wait for the response of the government, we are hopeful that court will pass judgement in our favor after going through all the modalities connected.
