Living in forced exile for last 31 years Kashmiri Hindus observe Balidan Divas on 14 September every year. Commemorative functions are held across the globe to remember the community martyrs and members of security forces who laid down their lives while upholding he dignity, honor and territorial integrity of India. It was on 13 september 1989 that Islamist terrorists had gunned down one of the tallest Kashmiri Hindu leaders Adv Tika Lal Taploo in broad day light in Srinagar. Target killings of minority Hindu community members continued unabated leading to ethnic cleansing of entire minority Hindu community from Valley.

A commemorative event was held in Kashmir valley this year by a senior BJP leader and ex MLC Sh Surender Ambardar at Vitasta -Sindhu -Samgama the conflunce of Jhelum and Sind rivers near Shadipur. Sh Ambardar with a group of Kashmiri Hindus paid homage while performing Shrada and Trapana to all the martyrs who were brutally massacred by terrorists.

While talking to Epilogue News , Sh Surender Ambardar said, “It is the martyrdom of Kashmiri Hindus and security forces which has survived India in Kashmir, adding, Our Martyrs are our pride and remembering them on this day is our duty and responsibility.”

He further said, “The survival of a community and nation directly depends on its ability to glorify and enshrine the martyrs in the memory. Martyrs are our guide to the supreme sacrifice the nationalists can offer at the altar of nationhood.”
Only those Nations survive which are conscious and receptive to the supreme sacrifice of their martyrs, said Sh Ambardar. “Pakistan sponsored proxy war has consumed thousands of Indian nationalists in valley but the unflinching nationalism of Indian nationalists in general, and Kashmiri Hindus in particular has and will continue to thwart the ill designs of the enemy. India Nation has survived for last 5000 years in valley and will continue to survive for 5000 years more.”
