Panun Kashmir today culminated the mammoth exercise of sansitization of entire Jagati camp, Purkhoo and Nagrota camps. Jagati camp sansitization which began on 26th May took nearly 15 days to complete with a committed manpower of three workers and 2 machines. While in Purkhoo and Nagrota camps the drive took place a week back and one machine each was used in the drive.
Panun Kashmir has kept the machines at respective camps and can be used as and when required.
Sanitization drive started in Buta nagar camp on Monday 14 June, likely to be completed in this week. The work was kick started by senior leaders of Panun Kashmir Sh Bihari lal Koul, Sh Daya Krishen, Sh Satish Sher and Sh Lenin Bhat along with the representatives Sh Bittu ji, Sh Vimal Hangloo, Sh Manohar nath pandita and Sh Ashok Kumar Pandits of Buta Nagar camp.
Panun Kashmir also moved an application through Amicus curaie Adv. Monika kohli for vaccination of camp inmates before the Hon’ble High Court. Consequently leading to vaccination drive in Jagati. The process will soon start in other camps.
“Our camps have become our identity in exile and the kind of hard ships faced by current camp dewellers for more than two decades after forced displacement deserves not only praise and appreciation but a sincere effort to mitigate their troubles as far as possible”, said Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman Panun Kashmir. Adding” Panun Kashmir shall always stand committed to its resolve towards entire community especially the camp dewellers.”
Panun Kashmir while recognising the role of selfless activists and volunteers who contributed in mitigating the sufferings of common masses during Covid Pandemic distributed Certificate of Appreciation to nearly hundred volunteers from Jammu and outside. The Certificate of Appreciation will be followed by felicitation program at a later date when situation permits.
Nearly 35 doctors and 110 covid warriors who supported the patients and attendents through all available means are also being recognised for their contribution during pandemic this includes doctors of government hospitals. Panun Kashmir while recognising the proactive role of 108 Ambulance service which was instrumental in saving lives has issues CoA to Director, National Health Mission.
The other two flag ship activities started by Panun Kashmir which includes Free RT PCR test, X Ray, CT Scan and it’s Langar service of food distribution in SMGS hospital and DRDO will continue to cater to society. Needless to say hundreds patients have benefited directly by the flag ship activities initiated by Panun Kashmir.
Panun Kashmir through PK Helpline while being active for nearly two months has attained the distinction of serving the community at various levels. Offering free Oximeters, Face Masks, Shields, PPE Suits, Medicine kits, arranging oxygen Concentrators and cylinders, et all to hundreds of patients and volunteers. Besides, the volunteers of Panun Kashmir ensured timely doctor assistance to patients at home, liasoning with hospitals for timely and speedy attendance, arranging Ambulance and offering general counselling to patients and attendents.
