Panun Kashmir in a statement issued today welcomed the steps initiated by the Union Territory government under the able leadership of Narender Modi led central government. Dr Agnishekhar, Convenor, Panun Kashmir while appreciating the decision of naming of a road and an educational institution in Srinagar after two illustrious Kashmiri Hindus said the historic injustice meted to the aboriginal inhabitants of Kashmir especially after erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir acceded to Indian Union led to abject marginalization of the community which culminated in forced mass exodus in 1990. He added assigning the name of illustrious Kashmiri Hindus to prominent landmarks is a befitting tribute not only to individual Kashmiri Hindus but a mark of respect for entire exiled community.
Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman, Panun Kashmir expressed satisfaction over seemingly active approach of the present government over J&K Migrant Immovable Property (Preservation, Protection and Restraint on Distress Sales) Act 1997. Referring to the Notification no 53 issued on 13-08-21 by the UT administration, Dr Chrungoo said, this notification is a testimony of the fact that previous governments ensured the marginalization and intimidation of the exiled Hindus of Kashmir continues and no headway is taken even on legal provisions of Law concerning Hindus of Kashmir. Dr Chrungoo while terming active stance on Distress Sales Act as another historic step by Modi government after August 5 and Domicile Law appealed the community to ensure the online portal application for grievances issued by the administration in this regard is submitted on priority.
Dr Agnishekhar while coming down heavily on the recent statement of Dr Farooq Abdullah said supporting and welcoming the advent of a Taliban regime which hosts UN designated terrorists as members is nothing new. He said that this statement of Dr Abdullah should act as an eye opener for government of India adding Panun Kashmir has reiterated it over last 30 years that people like him in the garb of NC and PDP are over ground workers and supporters of what is happening in Kashmir.
Dr Ajay Chrungoo thanked the LG Manoj Sinha for his vision and fore sight in trying to understand the plight of exiled Hindu community of Kashmir. In upholding the voice of nationalists in J&K, Dr Chrungoo assured full support and cooperation of Panun Kashmir in all such endeavors.
Panun Kashmir appealed the entire exiled Hindus of Kashmir to commemorate the Martyrs Day ( Balidan Divas ) on 14 September paying homage to Hindus of Kashmir and members of security forces who laid down their lives at the altar of this nation. Panun Kashmir shall be observing this day in all Displaced camps in Jammu as a mark of respect to all Martyrs with snall gatherings adhering to Covid protocols.
