Asia Championship Trophy: India men’s hockey team to face Japan in semi-finals

In Asia Championship Trophy men’s hockey tournament in Dhaka, defending champion India will look to continue their winning streak when they clash with Japan in the final round-robin match tomorrow. After a slow start to the tournament, Olympic bronze-medalist India roared back into the five-team tournament with two consecutive wins.

Playing their first tournament after a historic Olympic campaign, India were held to a 2-2 draw by Korea in the opener. Later the players lifted their games by leap and bounds to trounce hosts Bangladesh 9-0 and them got the better of arch-rivals Pakistan 3-1 on Friday.

India are currently leading the standings with seven points from three games ahead of Korea (5), Japan (2) and Pakistan (1)
