In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Kashmir Valley is world-famous for its scenic splendour, snow-capped mountains, plentiful wildlife, hospitable people, and local handicrafts.
In order to promote tourism and showcase the natural beauty of Kashmir across the globe, the Jammu and Kashmir Government under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the Tourism Industry of Kashmir and has subsequently managed to open an “Air Theatre” in the midst of world-famous Dal Lake in Srinagar, as a part of Iconic Week Celebrations under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.
The opening of the “floating Air Theatre” in the recent past, a first of its kind would certainly attract more and more tourists to visit Kashmir Valley, which is cradled high in the lofty green Himalayas and hailed all over the world for its incredible natural scenic beauty.
AIR Correspondent reports that for the past three decades, the movie theatres in Kashmir Valley have remained closed due to unprecedented circumstances. However, the Jammu & Kashmir Administration has come up with a novel idea of opening an “Air Theatre” in the middle of the world-famous Dal Lake in Srinagar.
The idea was conceptualized by J&K Tourism Department in collaboration with Smart City Srinagar and Mission Youth of Jammu and Kashmir in an effort to give a fillip to the tourism sector in Kashmir Valley.
The open theatre was inaugurated recently by Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta with the screening of a famous Hindi movie “Kashmir Ki Kali” which was watched and enjoyed by the tourists in their Shikaras.
The idea of opening the theatre on Dal Lake in Srinagar would undoubtedly go a long way in promoting tourism in Kashmir and attract more and more tourists to visit “the paradise on earth”.
