Gujarat, Kerala and Punjab have emerged as the top three performers states in the NITI Aayog’s State Energy and Climate Index (SECI). NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant today released the State Energy and Climate Index, SECI- Round one in new Delhi. The top three performers among the smaller states are Goa, Tripura and Manipur.
The report will be useful for the states and UTs to plan better policies and efficiently manage their energy resources in view of the changing climate.
The report aims to rank states and Union Territories on six parameters. These are Discoms’ Performance, Access, Affordability and Reliability of Energy, Clean Energy Initiatives, Energy Efficiency, Environmental Sustainability and new initiatives.
