In the Santosh Trophy Football, Punjab defeated Meghalaya by a solitary goal at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri yesterday evening.
Meghalaya dominated the first half of the game, but it was Punjab, who put up a better performance in the second. Though both teams were goalless at halftime, Amarpreet Singh struck in the 46th minute to place Punjab ahead.
Today in Group B, Services will take on Odisha at the Kottappady Stadium at 4 pm, while Gujarat will meet Karnataka in the second encounter at Payyanad Stadium at 8 pm.
