Bovine smuggling bid foiled in Samba

Jammu, Aug 27: A bovine smuggling bid was foiled in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district today and 14 animals were rescued, police said.

A police party during routine checking at a highway signalled a truck to stop at the Tapyal area, a police officer said.

The driver, on seeing them, tried to escape from the spot. The police chased him and later he abandoned the vehicle at the Jatwal area.
