US-led coalition says it destroyed IS site in Syrian mosque

US Military has said, the coalition forces have destroyed an Islamic State terror group command center inside a mosque along the Syrian border town of Hajin.

A statement from the Combined Joint Task Force said, over 16 heavily armed IS fighters present at the mosque, were killed in the strike. They were using the mosque to command attacks against Coalition partners.

It comes as Kurdish-led forces clear up the final remnants of IS group in Hajin, the largest settlement in the last pocket of territory controlled by the terrorists.

The statement said, the IS group continues to use protected structures to launch attacks against the coalition partners with complete disregard for the infrastructure and innocent human lives.

The town is located in eastern Syria about 30 kilometres from its border with Iraq.
