Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held discussions with leading Japanese financial institutions to explore ways to strengthen investment and deepen economic ties between India and Japan.
During the meetings, Goyal highlighted the opportunities available in India’s rapidly expanding economy and encouraged Japanese investors to increase their presence across key sectors. He emphasised the government’s efforts to create a supportive business environment and attract greater foreign investment.
The discussions focused on strengthening financial and investment partnerships and identifying new areas where Japanese institutions can participate in India’s growth story. The minister also highlighted India’s expanding infrastructure, manufacturing and technology sectors as areas offering significant investment potential.
Goyal said India and Japan share strong economic relations and that greater collaboration between their financial institutions can help create new opportunities for businesses in both countries. He also stressed the importance of building long-term partnerships based on mutual benefit.
The talks are part of India’s wider efforts to attract global capital, expand domestic manufacturing and strengthen international economic partnerships. Greater investment from Japan is expected to support India’s development ambitions while providing Japanese companies and financial institutions with opportunities in one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies.
