Leh, February 17, 2026: The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has constituted a UT-Level Coordination Committee for the planning and smooth conduct of the proposed Holy Exposition of the Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha in Ladakh. The committee will oversee arrangements, coordinate with stakeholders, and finalize modalities in consultation with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
According to the official order issued by the General Administration Department, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh had earlier written to the Union Minister of Culture requesting facilitation of the exposition, given its special significance for the Buddhist community of Ladakh. The timing and venue of the exposition are being finalized, with the UT administration ensuring that the event reflects Ladakh’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
Officials said the committee will work to ensure smooth logistics, security, and participation of devotees and dignitaries. The event is expected to draw large numbers of visitors, reinforcing Ladakh’s role as a center of Buddhist faith and tradition.
