New Delhi, July 20: The Indian Embassy in Tehran has issued an advisory asking Indian citizens residing in Iran to avoid all unnecessary movement and stay away from public gatherings amid the prevailing security situation in the country.
In the advisory, the embassy urged Indian nationals to remain vigilant, exercise caution, and strictly follow instructions issued by local authorities. Citizens have also been advised to monitor official announcements and avoid travelling to areas where security concerns have been reported.
The embassy said it remains in close contact with the Indian community in Iran and is closely monitoring developments. Indian nationals have been encouraged to stay connected with the embassy through its official communication channels and to ensure they are reachable in case of any emergency.
As a precautionary measure, the mission has advised citizens to avoid crowded places, demonstrations, and public gatherings until the security situation stabilizes. It also urged Indian nationals to keep their travel documents updated and remain prepared to follow any further advisories issued by the embassy.
The Ministry of External Affairs continues to monitor the situation closely and has assured that all necessary assistance will be extended to Indian citizens in Iran. The embassy said further updates will be issued as the situation evolves.
