The attachment of properties belonging to seven terrorists from Kishtwar, now operating from Pakistan and PoJK, marks a significant step in dismantling the infrastructure that sustains terror activities in J&K. This action, carried out under the supervision of the Special Investigating Unit and sanctioned by the NIA Special Court in Doda, underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to root out the menace of terrorism from its very foundation. This crackdown is not merely symbolic but strategic. By targeting the assets of these individuals, the police and intelligence agencies send a clear message: those who abandon their homeland to orchestrate terrorist activities will find no remnants of their influence within the country’s borders. This approach dismantles the support systems that terrorists rely on, severing ties with their base in the region and cutting off any avenues for financial or logistical aid. The identification and attachment of properties, which include lands once owned by the accused, reflect meticulous investigative efforts. Police teams have invested considerable time and resources to trace these assets while adhering to legal protocols. The attachment orders executed under Section 83 of the CrPC demonstrate the state’s resolve to utilise every lawful tool in its arsenal against terror networks.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at dismantling the terror ecosystem in  Jammu and Kashmir. By identifying the remaining 29 terrorists and preparing to attach their properties, authorities are tightening the noose on those who continue to promote militancy from across the border. Importantly, this move also acts as a deterrent, discouraging others from supporting anti-national activities. Families, sympathisers, and potential recruits are put on notice that harbouring or aiding such elements will have severe consequences. The decision is particularly pertinent in light of credible inputs regarding the efforts of Kishtwar-based terrorists to lure local youth into militancy. The message is clear: there is no place for terrorism in the UT. The attachment of properties is a strong step that will definitely secure a lasting peace in J&K.
