Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the closing ceremony of the Operation Drishti eye surgery camp, an initiative aimed at providing specialised eye care and surgical treatment to people in need.
The camp brought together medical specialists, healthcare workers and volunteers to provide eye examinations, consultations and surgical services to beneficiaries. The initiative focused on making quality eye care more accessible, particularly to people who may have difficulty reaching specialised medical facilities.
Addressing the gathering, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha appreciated the doctors, medical teams, volunteers and organisations involved in the camp. He acknowledged their efforts in providing treatment and support to patients and highlighted the importance of community-focused healthcare initiatives.
The Lieutenant Governor also stressed the importance of early detection and timely treatment of eye-related problems. Regular screening and greater public awareness, he said, can help identify conditions at an early stage and reduce the risk of avoidable vision loss.
The organisers said patients were examined by medical professionals and provided treatment based on their individual requirements. Those requiring surgery were treated during the camp with the support of the participating medical teams.
The closing ceremony also acknowledged the contribution of doctors, nurses, volunteers and other personnel who worked throughout the programme.
Operation Drishti is aimed at expanding access to specialised eye-care services and supporting efforts to improve healthcare delivery for people across Jammu and Kashmir.
