New Delhi, Feb 9: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Taxi to introduce regulated, passenger-friendly cab services across major airports in the country. The initiative aims to provide travelers with safe, reliable, and transparent transport options directly from airport terminals.
Under the agreement, Bharat Taxi will operate licensed cab services with standardized fares, digital payment facilities, and enhanced customer support. The move is expected to reduce passenger complaints related to overcharging and unregulated operators, while ensuring better service quality and accountability.
AAI officials stated that the partnership reflects the government’s commitment to improving last-mile connectivity and enhancing the overall passenger experience. The regulated cab services will be rolled out in phases, beginning with metro airports and gradually expanding to tier-II and tier-III cities.
Bharat Taxi representatives highlighted that the service will integrate app-based booking, GPS tracking, and customer feedback mechanisms to ensure transparency and safety. Special provisions will also be made for senior citizens and differently-abled passengers.
The MoU is seen as a step toward modernizing airport infrastructure and aligning with India’s broader vision of world-class aviation facilities. Industry experts believe the initiative will set new benchmarks for passenger convenience and strengthen trust in airport transport services.
