New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a new digital platform, ‘Satyagraha’, saying it will help people whose voices are being ignored or suppressed find support for their causes.
Gandhi introduced the platform on Saturday and said it would bring different movements and public campaigns from across the country onto one common platform. People involved in various struggles will be able to share information about their issues and connect with others working on similar causes.
Explaining the idea behind the initiative, Gandhi said many groups are fighting for their rights in different parts of India, but their concerns often remain isolated and receive little attention outside their immediate areas.
The platform will allow users to place their movements on a digital map, making it easier to see where different campaigns are taking place and what issues they are raising. The initiative covers a wide range of concerns, including land and farmers’ issues, education, examinations, women’s rights and the rights of marginalised communities.
Gandhi said he would also try to support people who bring their concerns to the platform. He said such issues could be taken up through different channels, including Parliament, public campaigns and written representations.
The name ‘Satyagraha’ draws from Mahatma Gandhi’s approach of peaceful resistance and standing up for truth. Rahul Gandhi said the platform was created with the aim of giving greater visibility to people who are struggling to have their concerns heard.
The Congress leader urged people involved in different movements to use the platform to share their experiences and connect with others facing similar problems.
The launch adds a digital dimension to Gandhi’s efforts to engage with grassroots movements and highlight issues raised by different sections of society.
