The 16th edition of Aero India will be held at Air Force Station Yelahanka in Bengaluru from February 8 to 12, 2027, bringing together aerospace and defence companies, military officials, technology specialists, policymakers and investors.
The Ministry of Defence has announced that online registration and booking of exhibition space will open on September 3, 2026 through the event’s dedicated portal. The early opening is intended to give Indian and international exhibitors time to plan participation in the five-day programme.
Aero India is organised by the Department of Defence Production and combines a major trade exhibition with business meetings, strategic discussions, technology demonstrations and flying displays. The event is positioned as a platform for both operational aviation and the industrial ecosystem supporting aerospace and defence.
The 2027 edition is expected to feature Indian Air Force aircraft as well as international aviation teams. Flying displays allow participating services and manufacturers to demonstrate aircraft performance, while the exhibition supports detailed engagement around systems, components, maintenance and manufacturing partnerships.
For Indian industry, the show provides an opportunity to display locally designed and manufactured platforms, equipment and technologies to military delegations and prospective partners. Large public-sector and private companies are generally joined by smaller suppliers, start-ups and research organisations.
The government expects the event to support the objectives of self-reliance in defence manufacturing and strengthen India’s position in global aerospace supply chains. This includes creating opportunities for investment, exports, joint development, technology cooperation and integration of domestic firms into international production networks.
The dedicated web portal is designed to manage exhibitor registration, space booking and participant services. Opening bookings more than five months before the show gives companies a defined window for logistics, demonstrations and delegation-level meetings.
Aero India has grown from an air show into a combined defence-business and policy forum. Its agenda now extends beyond aircraft to avionics, unmanned systems, electronics, weapons, sensors, space-linked capabilities, simulation, maintenance and emerging technologies.
The 15th edition was held at Yelahanka in February 2025 and provided a platform for partnerships between Indian and overseas firms. The next edition will continue at the same air base, which has the infrastructure and experience required for a large exhibition and intensive flying programme.
Business-to-business and government-to-business meetings are an important part of the event because procurement and industrial partnerships require sustained technical and commercial discussions. Strategic sessions also give officials and industry leaders a forum to assess changing capability requirements and supply-chain risks.
Participation by start-ups and small and medium enterprises will be closely watched as India seeks to widen the supplier base for defence production. Their access to larger manufacturers, military users and investors can help move promising technologies towards testing, certification and scale.
With dates and registration arrangements now announced, attention will shift to the exhibitor list, participating countries, aircraft line-up and planned agreements. Those details are expected to emerge as preparations advance towards February 2027.
