The Chari Mubarak Yatra was held in Poonch on Wednesday, marking the formal culmination of the 10-day Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. Led by Swami Vishavatmanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, the procession began from the historic Dashnami Akhara Mandir in Poonch and proceeded to the Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Shrine at Rajpura in Mandi.
The religious procession was preceded by a special puja and havan at the Akhara Mandir, followed by a guard of honour for the holy mace. Hundreds of devotees from different parts of the country participated in the 25-kilometre journey, chanting religious slogans and offering prayers along the route.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, MLA Kalakote Thakur Randhir Singh, former MLC Vibodh Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Sandeep Wazir and other civil and police officials were among those present during the occasion.
Local residents welcomed the pilgrims and arranged food and refreshments at several points along the route. A religious gathering was also organised, where speakers highlighted the importance of communal harmony, brotherhood and peace in the region.
The sacred mace was received with enthusiasm at Mandi and taken to the Budha Amarnath shrine, where special prayers were offered. It will remain at the temple for two days before being brought back on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The conclusion of the Chari Mubarak procession formally brought this year’s Budha Amarnath Yatra to an end.
