Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), commemorating the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), was celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir with religious fervour and devotion on Wednesday. Thousands of devotees participated in special prayers, religious gatherings and processions held at mosques and shrines across the Union Territory.
The largest congregation was witnessed at the Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar, where thousands of devotees gathered to offer prayers and seek blessings. The holy relic associated with Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was displayed for devotees following the prayers, drawing large crowds to the revered shrine.
Several parts of the Kashmir Valley witnessed Milad processions, with people reciting Durood and Naat and highlighting the teachings and life of the Prophet. Religious scholars addressed gatherings and urged people to follow the values of peace, compassion, brotherhood and harmony.
Celebrations were also held across Jammu region, including Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Reasi, Kathua, Samba and Udhampur. Large processions and religious programmes were organised at various places, while special prayers were offered for peace, prosperity and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir and across the country.
The occasion was marked by peaceful gatherings and community participation, with devotees reflecting on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and emphasising the importance of compassion, unity and peaceful coexistence.
