Srinagar, October 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has prohibited examination supervisory staff from keeping mobile phones with them during examination hours to ensure the fair and smooth conduct of board examinations.
Under a circular issued on October 21, staff must deposit their phones with the centre superintendent before the examination begins. Centre superintendents will be personally responsible for enforcing the instructions and ensuring compliance.
The restriction includes an exemption for centre superintendents, who may retain their phones for official communication with JKBOSE’s divisional, sub-divisional and branch offices, as well as other officials in the departmental hierarchy.
The instructions require supervisory staff to hand over their devices rather than simply keep them switched off during examination hours.
