Dholera is taking shape as a planned industrial city, with factories, transport links and public services being developed alongside housing. The aim is to attract businesses while creating a place where employees and their families can live and work.
Among its major projects is Tata Electronics’ semiconductor fabrication facility, being developed with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation. The project is expected to strengthen India’s ability to manufacture chips and support its growing electronics industry.
Development plans also cover water supply, electricity, schools, healthcare facilities and commercial spaces. These services will be essential as industries establish operations and more people move to the region.
The Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway, airport development and planned rail connections are intended to make the area easier to reach and improve the movement of goods. Together, these investments form an important part of the effort to turn Dholera into a major industrial centre.
