Srinagar, October 7: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said he would discuss the proposed changes to his Council of Ministers with National Conference president Farooq Abdullah after returning from the GST Council meeting in New Delhi.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Omar said he had earlier indicated that the Cabinet exercise would be taken up after the Assembly session. With the session now over, he had intended to move ahead, but his scheduled visit to Delhi would come first.
He said he would consult Farooq Abdullah on his return before deciding the next step. No date for the expansion or reshuffle was announced, and he did not name any ministers who might be inducted or given different responsibilities.
The present Council of Ministers includes Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Sakeena Masood Itoo, Javed Ahmed Rana, Javid Ahmad Dar and Satish Sharma. Reports of possible changes have been circulating, but details of the proposed exercise have yet to be officially disclosed.
