Anantnag, October 7: Three people, including a firefighter, were injured after a fire broke out in Qazi Mohalla in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district early Wednesday, damaging more than six residential houses.
According to reports, the fire started in one house around 2 am and spread to nearby homes. Fire tenders rushed to the area, where crews worked to contain the flames and prevent them from reaching more buildings. Several houses had already suffered considerable damage by the time the blaze was brought under control.
Two residents helping the firefighting teams and one firefighter sustained injuries during the operation. All three were taken for medical treatment.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known. Police have registered a case and begun investigating the incident.
