New Delhi, November 5: Agniveers completing four years in uniform will have a further opportunity to join the regular armed forces under changes cleared by the Cabinet.
Those outside the 25 per cent selected for regular employment can opt for another two years of service. After completing that period, willing personnel who satisfy the prescribed selection requirements will be offered regular enrolment.
The decision creates a route for all eligible Agniveers to remain in the forces, while retaining selection conditions. The Agnipath scheme will continue, with improved pay and benefits during the additional engagement.
