Srinagar, November 5: Police have registered a case against four people accused of impersonating cybercrime officials and cheating a man of ₹50,000 in Srinagar’s Batmaloo area.
According to an official, the action followed a complaint in which the man alleged that the four had falsely presented themselves as officers of the Cyber Crime Department and fraudulently obtained the money from him.
Police Station Batmaloo has registered FIR No. 139/2026 under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway, officials said.
