Greater Noida: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said India has continued to grow at a healthy pace despite uncertainty in the global economy. Speaking at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show in Greater Noida, Shah said the country recorded a 7.8 per cent growth rate and continued to show strength even as several parts of the world faced economic and geopolitical challenges.
Shah said the latest growth figures showed that economic activity in India remained strong. He pointed to rising business activity, infrastructure development and investment as some of the factors supporting the country’s growth.
Speaking about Uttar Pradesh, the Union minister said the state has been witnessing major changes in its industrial and business sectors. He highlighted the growth of manufacturing, improved connectivity and new infrastructure projects, saying these developments were creating more opportunities for businesses and investors.
Shah also referred to major projects in the state, including the Noida International Airport and several expressways and transport links. Better connectivity, he said, was helping businesses reach markets more easily and making Uttar Pradesh an increasingly important destination for investment.
The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show has brought together businesses, manufacturers, exporters, entrepreneurs and buyers from different parts of the country and abroad. The event gives companies an opportunity to display their products, meet potential buyers and explore new markets.
Shah said India’s growth was taking place against the backdrop of continuing uncertainty in the international economy. He stressed the need to further expand trade, strengthen manufacturing and create more opportunities for Indian businesses in global markets.
The 7.8 per cent growth recorded by India has put the country’s domestic economic activity in focus, particularly demand, investment, manufacturing and services. The government has continued to emphasise these areas as important drivers of future economic growth.
