New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the goal of building a Viksit Bharat can be achieved only when people from all sections of society contribute to the country’s progress.
Modi made the remarks while interacting with Seva Yatris taking part in the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan through video conferencing. The initiative brings together volunteers who are travelling across different parts of the country while taking part in community service activities.
During the interaction, the Prime Minister spoke to participants about their experiences during the journey and the people they had met along the way. He encouraged them to continue their work with a spirit of service and to remain connected with local communities.
The Seva Yatris have been travelling on motorcycles from Vadnagar in Gujarat to Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. During their journey, they have been visiting villages and towns, meeting residents and participating in activities aimed at serving local communities.
The campaign also includes cleanliness drives and visits to schools, hospitals, nursing homes and other places where volunteers can interact directly with people. The participants are using the journey to understand local issues and encourage greater involvement in community activities.
Modi said the spirit of service has an important role in the country’s development. He stressed that building a developed India is not the responsibility of the government alone and that citizens also have an important part to play.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the importance of young people taking part in social and nation-building activities. He said such initiatives allow participants to experience India’s diversity while developing a closer understanding of the lives and concerns of people in different regions.
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is scheduled to continue until October 7. Organisers said the campaign aims to promote community service, public participation and a stronger sense of responsibility towards society.
The interaction ended with Modi encouraging the Seva Yatris to continue their journey with the same commitment and carry the message of service to more communities along the way.
